Called this thread that as i've been spring cleaning as I can't afford to go anywhere this weekend and i've come across my 'magic black box' again that is full of cassettes that I compiled from the age of twelve upwards. I transferred dozens of songs from vinyl to casette so that I could play them in my walkmen on the way to school and then work.
It's even got a cassette in there that a guy made for me where every song has got the name mary in it, called The Mary Tape.

I digress.
I'm just wondering if peoples' music tastes have changed dramatically over time? Most of these tapes are house/disco where from the age of 14 I went to clubs that played that kind of music because that was my way of releasing tension. I came across one tape called The Texan* and ended up just lying on my bed and being transported back to a certain time in my life. It was wonderful. It's amazing how music can do that.
I'm probably a folk head now though I am tiring of that sound and am dangerously dancing with goth rock

Lord help us.
I have loads of friends who will only listen to one type of music - their taste has never altered no matter how many new experiences have been thrown their way. So i'm just being nosy - how many of you are music chameleons and how many of you are stuck in one section at HMV?
*The Texan - does anybody know who was responsible for this song? I guess you'd say it's house/dance from the late 80's. It's the best song in the world to dance to.
