dunno if anyone remembers, but when McClaren dropped Beckham it was about Beckham "not fitting in with his long term plans for the team". it indicated that building the team around Beckham's delivery was proven ineffective against decent opposition and it was time to move on. if it was about form, he would've at least been kept in the squad. i like Beckham, and i feel for him with the catch 22 he's been dumped into by various factors in his life, not just McClaren/England. but i feel McClaren has used Beckham's press allure to shield himself twice and it's fucking awful! especially when added to the impotent backwards football he's got the team playing again. |
