Well what point are you trying to make?! Sounds like the same ol' Doherty as today but in younger form if you ask me - quoting poetry, being witty, hogging the frame and generally being a bit of an upstart.

of course i don't like him, i love music.

but aside, watching the clip i just thought it was funny how he's developed a cockney street urchin slur and tries to sell himself as the beaten down poet of the working classes when he's shown as a nice clean posh lad.

it's really funny to me.

Doherty is fraudulent. He’s ground zero of a generation of borderline stage school kids pretending to be down trodden, London urbanites.

Watch it bleed right down into Kate Nash, Jamie T, Ed Larrikin, Jack Penate etc and their put on ‘commoner’ singing accents, and it is fraudulent.

Doherty is a such hard livin druggie so let’s shove him in a room with Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Dee Dee Ramone, GG Allin et al and watch him blend right in. Of course that’s not what would happen! Cuz that’s not what he is...

he is an actor who totters around with a washed up model whilst stammering out bad couplets in a faux east end accent.

But some might say that’s harsh cuz he “connects with an audience”. So what!? He’s a hack who ponies around onstage sipping apple juice from a fucking whiskey bottle!

And this is what he’s been rewarded for.

It isn’t the middle class nice boy I’m attacking, or would ever attack. It’s the vacuous, fraudulent cliché who shouldn’t be babied by the music community anymore.
