Because i'm feeling really happy can we have a thread that's the opposite of Bovey's depressing tracks thread?

*Our House - because our house was in the middle of our street and there was always something happening (because there was ten of us) All of my family grin from ear to ear when we hear it. It's like Madness performed it for us.

*Boney M tracks - because it reminds me of growing up with my best friend, Anna. Her father loved them and used to get us to dance around tables (conga style) and it always brings a smile to my face.

*Common People - it became an anthem for one of my best buddies, Steve and I because we hung around with a load of well to doers and we didn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out off. Everytime I hear it I see him and my good self singing it with absolute meaning (and dancing like cheeky monkeys on acid) :D

The Housemartins - Happy Hour : reminds me of a night where me and an old school mte got muntered in a crap pub in Branksome (Tim will know) and did some crazy dancing routine that we'd made up. The DJ playwed it again an hour later and virtually the whole pub was copying us.

Iggy Pop - The Passenger : Reminds me of college.

Teardrop Explodes - Reward : Reminds me of teen years hero worshipping Julian Cope (I was even nicknamed Ju by some)

Jackie Wilson - Higher and Higher (cos it's just such a brilliant happy song)

Dolly Mixture - New Look Baby (still makes me smile)

Tom Jones - Accept Yourself : A singalonga pub cracker.

Devo - Slap Yer Mammy : because me and my bro used to pretend to slap our mam to the tune.

Dexys - There There My Dear : seems to have been with me all my life.

Band of Gold, anything by Minnie Ripperton or The Carpenters, songs that remind me of my folks like John Denver et al.
Bittersweet Symphony actually always raises a smile for some reason!

Iggy Pop- "Lust For Life" mainly because when I hear it I just think of the cover of the LP. The happiest photograph ever taken-

See?

I remember hearing on Talk Sport about 10 years ago that "Southern Nights" by Glen Campbell was scientifically the happiest song ever made.

^ I'm sure you can. Remove that existentialist robe and rejoice in the power of a smile :D
I forgot to add 'Basket case' - one of my fave songs of all time - well it was until last night. They played it twice on the jukebox and a band covered it and it was one of the weirdest nights of my life. So the happy memories I had associated with it have now been replaced with last night's ones. Has anybody else spent a night in Croydon? That is all I have to say on the matter.

I will never be going there again, Bovey! I only went because a friend wanted to see this band she really likes. We walked into this pub and I swear it was like that scene out of american werewolf in london - 'There be strangers in town.' (strangers because we were wearing clothes and could complete sentences without saying 'fuck' after every word )
And at one stage I thought it was going to turn unto From dusk till dawn as I edged towards the door. I endured three 'bands' and lots of vodka before collapsing on a table and saying 'For the love of God, how much longer?' It was 9:30!
We found out that her band was not on till midnight and so I made like cinderella and facked off. It was seriously scary. I have never seen such a 'clicky' pub. They all knew each other and there were a lot of love in the room (like a small fishing village scenario 'love' except there were no fish...) :?
I thought of you as we went past Penge... :P
