Watched Heroesand thought it was very promising if already slow - time will tell. I've read interviews with the Lost people that the problem is that in the wake of 24, sopranos et al, American drama commissioners require sign up to deliver a minimum of four series of 25 "1 hour" (nearer 40 mins, natch) episodes. So not only is material that would probably sit nicely across a six-8 parter being stretched across one overlong series, there's a temptation to stretch it even further to avoid having to come up with new concepts for the other ones. |
