A colleague came back from Hungary this week with a couple of odd bags of sweets. The first were black aniseed flavoured balls. Nothing odd there but they were called Negroes and the bag had a golly type figure on the front. Yes, in 2007. I'll resist the sucking on a Negro gag. The other was a packet of coffee flavoured sweets. The packaging was normal but for one splash style announcement in English in a large font: NOW PROBLEM FREE. What the hell happened to anyone daring to eat them previously? Any more iffy products? |

My housemate went to Hungary and bought back a pack of Negro mints too! Think they're quite common over there... I remember my first memory of laughing at different cultures occured in primary school when our head went to Sweden and bought back some biscuits called BUM. She let us all have a bum biscuit... |
