It had to happen. For many moons now the upper classes have had to deal with the fact that a 'commoner' (yea, a commoner) was and still is responsible for arguably the most influential collection of writings to ever grace a human bookcase (bar the bible)
No, we can't have this. Not content with ripping theatre away from the bosom of the lower classes, who gave birth to the stage, they now must pour scorn over 'one of our lot' dictating their fictional words and actions.
Hark! How can a commoner know of such things as law and history? Get thee to the fields and hoe until sundown.
Ever heard of self-study? Ever heard of breaking the cycle of non-education within a class? Cover your ears oh upper classes for the fingers of the working class can flick through pages and pick up quills as good as you lot (except better in some cases)
No, he must be of high standing. He could not be born with an innate gift under the stars of a commoner?
This comes hot on the heels of the working class and education study/results - where, despite getting the same grades as classes above them, education opportunity doors are being closed to us chimney sweeps.
You see they made a mistake - they educated the working class - it was to follow orders - they never thought that we would evolve or dare to aspire to anything other than what our class trappings suggested. Now what is one to do?
Make it harder for the working class to become educated - they don't have money so let us select students via purse strings - a child of mine can't possibly sweep a chimney.
Yes, over the next few decades watch as the working classes are forced to revert back to what position and positioning suggests (but for every working class child that you hold back, a william shall push his way to the front)
Who said class was dead? They didn't know what they were talking about. Right that's my rant for the day.
P.S - this is my longest and most pointless post to date and on the sabbath day. Dead proud I am. Did I tell you how passionately I feel about the topic of the working class and education?
