See for a start. When was the last time you defragmented the hard drive, tidied up the registry or got rid of all those temporary files? I would do that as well - try opening in safe mode and use the windows inbuilt tools to do so. What o/s do you have as well? Once that is done I would download CCCleaner and Speed Defrag and carry that out on a regular basis. If I had a pound for the amount of PC's I have fixed in this way I could buy a round for the whole SXP board! And a packet of crisps each as well. I wouldn't ditch the laptop either. A live Linux distribution such as Puppy Linux should run nicely on it if Windblows fails. |

Ta v much - may be able to sort something out from there - though most of that technogubbins is a mystery to me. Will have to work out how to get past the error message in the first place, but that may not be beyond my limited powers. |
