Gav mate - no paid mp3 download service offers mp3's at 160 k/bits. If I was paying for mp3's I expect at least 192 vbr because I cannot distinguish them from a CD at that rate. And even with my cloth ears I can tell at a lesser rate - just! There again if you think I am nerdy have a butchers at.

I am not having a go at musicians distributing their own music but please do it at a decent quality bit rate worth shelling out our hard earned quids for.

I for one do not shed a tear at the record companies slow demise. Been predicting it for years. Ostriches spring to mind.

AAC has been proven to be better than mp3 at the same bitrate. AAC at 128 is supposed, and I think in tests have proven to be, equal mp3 at 160!

We should all be using ogg vorbis anyway :lol:
