I didn't want to post this until there was a chill in the air - and today there definitely is, so here goes!! Ten Year Plan returns for the last of the quarterly events for this year. Maybe for ever. I don't know. This time around we will be featuring the years 1979- 1988 inclusive. ONLY music from this era will be played, with the emphasis firmly on Post-Punk, New Wave, Indie-from-when-Indie-meant-Indie, and Hip-Hop, Rap and the like... (I've just had a quick calculation, and we'll be able to play Salt'n'Pepa, Morrissey, Pet Shop Boys and Wee Papa Girl Rappers! Plus all the usual Postcard, Smiths, C86 malarky... DJ's are; Rocker http://www.dandelionradio.com/ Tom Bola http://www.indie-mp3.co.uk/ Stevan 'Wiggy' Bennett (The Grooveyard/BBC London 94.9fm) Chimes (er, Ten Year Plan) Upstairs at The Old Crown Public House 33 New Oxford Street London WC1A 1BH 8.30pm - 2am Plus Visual entertainment, nibbles and whatnot... Entry - Free, although donations collected for room hire. Will there be any Christmassy songs played? Well, you tell me of a decent song that was released within these ten years that HASN'T been played to death, and we'll consider it! Website added soon! |

No ta, have spoke to the venue today, and it's all cool. Technology, eh? Be the death of us. Then again, it does allow me to put up an image of my musical preparation.... That's just ONE playlist... sits back and waits for the slagging re U2 and New Edition... doesn't mean I'm gonna play 'em!! |

Anyone who's thinking of coming down tonight, if you haven't been before, then be aware that if you're coming from Tottenham Court Road, this takes place upstairs at The OLD crown, as opposed to The Crown, which is about 200 yards previous. And, to make things even easier, our venue doesn't have a name outside, but it's black and on the corner. You can't miss it. Free in! Complimentary buffet! 1979-1988 visuals and sounds! Come and a have a night of looking back, so's you can look forward to Christmas! Or something... |
