I mostly listen to WFMU on line (http://www.wfmu.org/) broadcasting out of New Jersey. Particularly recommend Music To Spazz By with Dave the Spazz; Sinners' Crossroads with Kevin Nutt; Three Chord Monte with Joe Belock; Cherry Blossom Clinic with Terre T; The Radio Thrift Shop with Laura Cantrell; Fool's Paradise with Rex; Teenage Wasteland with Bill Kelly and Downtown Soulville with Mr Fine Wine. There's an extensive archive at http://wfmu.org/special.php, so you can tune in any time of day or night and find something worth listening to. Several UK bands that don't get much airplay in the UK get played on WFMU (A-Lines, Black Time, Dirthole, etc). Terre T played Manic Cough last week. |

totally agree with the lamacq thing. i occasionally cath him by accident and he's usually playing elastica or echobelly. LIVE IN THE NOW STEVE! i flit between radio 4 (creak BONG finisterre etc) and 6music on which i usually seek out mark riley 7-10 weds - friday. tom robinson in the same slot monday and tuesday is okay too in a daft but enthusiastic uncle sort of way. stuart maconie's freak zone on sunday nights is great and adam and joe on saturday mornings and russell howard on sundays are both pretty entertaining. other than that it's radio 4 all the way i'm afraid. i am over 30 now. i can't fucking stand radio 1 or xfm. never could. |
