Not sure if I’ve mentioned it before, but i’m getting married in October … (whoo-hoo) We’re having a string quartet for the actual ceremony part .. and need to get my head around songs they could play. This is civil so no religious overtone. However, I want them to do some contemporary stuff – but the problem is - what? Not everything works in strings, and I don’t want it to be overly gimmickly or naff (Arctic Monkey’s in strings won’t work) The only one I’ve come up with “Please, please, please let me get what I want” (and that’s probably the limit for Morrissey-references on a wedding day) Any thoughts? |

Aw, good luck hon. What about Adele's 'Daydreamer' - I love that song and the lyrics. I can't really think of anything else at the mo. I'm not good with wedding songs. |

Any help from their name? Say if they were called Sue you could play A Boy Named Sue. Er, not that I'm suggesting that your beloved is a sex change case... |

Have the "pleasure" of working occassioally with a couple of string quartets, one of them have a repatois of contemp tunes. Their version of Purple Haze in truth is fucking wicked! I'll ask em for ideas next time I cross their path. |
