I seem to remember reading somewhere that Newcastle were canny enough to get all the Northern Rock sponsorship dosh up front (on the basis that no-one would pay after watching them this season). Of course now that Northern Rock are temporarily a nationalised company, they don’t need to sponsor a club. So I think the Government could replace the “Northern Rock” logo with some sensible advice, like “calm down, la” on Joey Barton’s shirt. |

So Jongleurs FC, sorry Newcastle, will probably soon be able to get themselves a new sponsor thereby getting paid twice. We did that when one went under (Eidos?) and Thomas Cook took over. |
