After last year’s debacle, they’ve just announced the next Field Day in Victoria Park, Hackney on Saturday 9 August. I have to say the line up’s pretty good: Foals, Fionn Regan, Of Montreal, Simian Mobile Disco, Richie Hawtin (Minus, Berlin) / Visuals by Ali Demirel, Mystery Jets, Lightspeed Champion, White Lies, Huw Stephens, King Creosote (Duo), Dirty Projectors, Tunng, Eat Your Own Ears djs, Brodinski, Jeffrey Lewis, Crookers, Dan Deacon, Magistrates, The Notwist, James Holden, Emperor Machine, The Field, One Little Plane, Filithy Dukes, Bloggers Delight plus more to be announced... For a taster of what’s in the pipeline for August 9th, tune into Channel 4 on Friday April 4th. Forever immortalised on film, FIELD DAY 2007 will air as a 30-minute documentary at midnight. c&p "Over the past 6 months, we've been working hard to rectify the issues that arose from our first event, and to ensure that 2008's FIELD DAY is everything we want it to be. We've appointed a new production team:- Ear To The Ground, who were behind the recent Liverpool Capital of Culture launch event. Check their site at http://www.eartotheground.org for more info. There will be a significant increase in toilets and urinals across the FIELD DAY site in 2008. The Peppermint Group (http://www.peppermintbars.co.uk) who have experience running the bars at the 30,000 capacity festival Bestival for the last 3 years, 36,000 capacity Glade festival, Lovebox and many others will be managing, running and operating the bars at Field Day 2008. The site is being re planned and redesigned so we get the best possible sound and DB levels by Vanguardia Consulting (http://www.vanguardiaconsulting.co.uk), who work with the likes of V Festival, Download, O2 Wireless and also have experience in Victoria Park with Lovebox. There will be a new ticketing and guest list system implemented on arrival, and all signposting will be improved." |

what will sway me, and i'm not going without assurances, will be being able to go in and out. because i live a coule of hundred metres away i would be quite happy to pop in and out, but i dont want to be trapped |
