My first gig in London was at the Venue, Victoria. Headline were Naked Lunch, a Some Bizarre band, labeled 'futurist' at the time. Think I saw some other band there a few months later but no idea who. |

My first London gig would have been as a metal head teenager - up from Wales on a coach. Hammersmith somewhere. Not sure who it was, either. Someone like Twisted Sister, no doubt. I was 13 or 14. First London gig after I moved to London? No idea. |

Think my first London gig may have been Swell Maps, The Raincoats and Kleenex at The Acklam Hall; which is another venue that I miss. I also saw Screaming Blue Messiahs there in one of it's later incarnations (either Bay63 or The Powerhaus). They were shite! Fondest Acklam memory: Einsturzende Neu Bauten attacking the walls with a pneumatic drill! |

Think my first ever gig in London might have been Oasis at Wembley Stadium actually. My first in a venue might have been Manics at Brixton Academy... First when I moved here was Bright Eyes at the Boogaloo in Archway... fucking sweet that was, stood right next to the bastard... With Jim James playing a bar stool as accompaniment. Sweeeeeeet. |
