Interesting thread - do we know of any other festivals struggling? I heard that Glasto isn't sold out yet and Truck still has a few tickets left. I wonder with the credit crunch if the festival bubble hasn't burst - or maybe people are just pissed off at getting pissed on by our summer weather. Perhaps the urban one-dayers like Field Day are going to be most popular this year. |

Glastonbury is shit, they use the "show some glastonbury spirit" line to cover up the fact the amenities are piss poor and they never improve them despite the probems being glaringly obvious. I don't subscribe to the it attracts the wrong people feeling but I do think it's a demographic who aren't keen on slumming it for the most part now. Line-up is irrelevent if the vibe is good enough, this is apparent as in previous years its sold out pre-line-up announcement |

I went to Glasto last year and although I did see some great bands the logistics of getting around were a real nightmare due to the increase in numbers and of course the mud. Having experienced a number of really great smaller festivals as well last year we just decided we'd only do little festivals from now on unless a glasto line up looked really good. Am only doing Camp bestival this year (it was that or Latitude which also looks good) as I seem to have tons of weddings to go to this summer which is limiting us in terms of weekends and cash! |
