Much as I like Cat Stevens, I can't help but believe PP Arnold (and even Rod!) gave First Cut is the Deepest the soul and tenderness that his jaunty original lacked. And Here Comes My Baby by Cat is nice but the Tremeloes turned it into this magnificent frothy pop song. And where do you stop with Johnny Cash in the 90s? Any more? |
