You know, the bird? Watched the F Word last night and witnessed the sickening sight of Ramsey dangling off the side of an Icelandic cliff catching these lovely birds with a net on a pole. 4 were caught, necks wrung, cut open and hearts swallowed raw on TV. It was horrible. No wonder their numbers are currently suffering off the coast of Scotland. This man should be shot and I'll pull the trigger and eat his heart (if he has one) on TV. |

No arguments from me if people want to shoot Ramsey - but, and I'm not being a wicker mallet-banging veggie here, you know, fair play to him for having the courage of his meat-eating convictions. He slaughters his own dinner, he has the stomach for it, he doesn't only buy stuff sans visage in a fishmonger, or battered and breadcrumbed by Bernard Matthews, before he gets all 'manly' about his carnivorism. There was also an outcry about Jamie Oliver slaughtering a lamb on Channel 4 - why? Are the people moaning all vegetarian? Of course not, they're just squeamish people who don't think about what they're eating and where it comes from. In a similar way, I grow my own potatoes, tomatoes, courgettes, lettuce, onions and cabbage. I'm terribly proud of them too, especially as they're gorgeous. My chillis aren't working but then it's a shitty summer. Love, Monty. |

I ate puffin a few weekends ago, very nice. I think that you're bang on the money it's the realisation of the goriness that puts people off. If animals weren't supposed to be eaten they wouldn't make them out of meat. ![]() Watched a documentary about sharks, marlin and swordfish the other day and will think twice there though because of the sheer number that just go to waste, as little as 20% of sharks caught for food make it to the processors. |

Is that Uncle Monty? You terrible c*nt... ![]() I have two problems here: 1. Is the catching and then graphic death of a wild animal a suitable subject for TV? Or a rating pulling shock tactic from a man who, after all, names his programme to shock too. 2. The bird, itself. These aren't reared to eat, they're wild and their numbers are currently at risk. Oh and I hate him and his beloved football team. |

There's a terrific idea, BJ - why not have a series called "Ramsay, You Terrible C*nt"? Each week, Ramsay, nailed to an upended table, can have a different part of himself fed to an animal he has previously featured being slaughtered on his show, finally having his heart fed to a puffin. The ratings would be gigantic. I've no idea who Ramsay supports but I remember him playing for Rangers reserves years ago and thinking, "that guy should be serving pies and Bovril, not playing." As for puffins - you're right, they're not bred to eat but neither are fish (if you discount evil fish farms) and no one's suggesting fishing be stopped, despite massive scarcity in certain species. The whole food industry needs a serious overhaul, blah blah... |

Puffins are in decline due to over fishing impacting on their food supply. You should vent your anger on Rick Stein instead Mr Juice. Ramsey is a tit. I do like Kitchen Nightmares though. |

As a principle, eating what you catch is a good one so fair play to Ramsey (he's still a cock though). His method is admirably labour intensive so won't affect the puffin population - if he had a net the size of Iceland you'd be right. (I'd draw the line at eating all the animal though - I saw someone consume all the parts of the pig, including the anus, a few weeks ago). If you don't eat anything with a face, you may have a problem with your veggies: |

Puffins are fat and not very agile in the air which means they're ideal for a tasty snack. |

Amazing innit. No one moans when penguins are covered in chocolate, cut into small pieces and sold as biscuits for our pleasure. But when Ramsey eats a puffin all hell breaks loose. |
