Seems that 2008 may see the return of The Specials.
Although it remains to be seen if Jerry Dammers will be involved or not.

Specials guitarist Roddy Radiation (aka Roddy Byers) answers a few questions about the reunion on his forum.

In the 6 years I've lived in Cov, I've realised that it's manditory for everyone in the city over the age of 30 to claim to have been in an early version of the band.

Ergo: I was in the Specials in their early days; I stood near a Xylophone during a rehearsal of Too Much Too Young, exect that back then it was called "Not Enough Too Old".

I demand my place on the reunion stage.

I had an email from Eric Blowtorch today who spoke to Jerry Dammers this morning. He said he asked Jerry about the reunion and Jerry said it's all a load of bollox. So, if "The Specials" do get back together for a tour it won't be the original 7.

In the meantime here's a video of Jerry Dammers new project. It's great to see him back on stage again.

Roddy Radiation, Neville Staple, Lynval Golding, John Bradbury, Horace Panter and Terry Hall performed during day two of Bestival at Robin Hill Country Park on September 6, 2008 in Newport, Isle of Wight. No Jerry Dammers = no Specials.
