I can't be arsed to find that "YouTube Music" thread, so i'll just start a new one... Just caught up on Glen Campbell on Jools Holland last week... And if you didn't see it, here he is doing "Witchita Lineman" - it brought a tear to my eye I can tell you.. (not bad guitar work either) |

You having one of those late night, let's see what I can find on Youtube sessions... oooh a marmoset that looks surprised... three young girls dancing to I Want You Back.... a hoodie happy slapping a baby... Glen Campbell performing a classic... eeek! is that the time?! ![]() Quite like the tune but it's the selection of choice of a certain generation of baritone karaoke singers and for that reason, I'm oot. |

Am I the only one who thinks Wichita Lineman is a decent enough song, with a lovely sound but... isn't worthy of the adulation heaped upon it? I mean every time it's mentioned people are like "BEST SONG EVER" and I'm a bit like... "Weeeeelll it's metaphorical content is a bit vague isn't it and it doesn't conjour up images of romantic isolation half as well as certain other songs and... if it wasn't for the gorgeous violins I'd probably find it a bit uninspiring..." I mean it's a fine song, sure, but I don't understand the massive fuss about it meself... |

I like that on title alone but you're wrong Simon. I think you'll find it's Rhinestone Cowboy and I have a masters in Cambellism. |
