The Guardian had its usual Top 5 listening choices by a sportsman today and the list was compiled by David Lloyd, a Lancashire cricketing legend who's well into his 50s. His selection... 5 records by the Fall! Anyone spot a politician at a gig or see a newsreader buying a Belle and Sebastian album? I'll continue, with the old guy who played Argus Filch, the caretaker at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films... at a Devo gig (less surprisingly perhaps, also saw Adrian Edmondson at that gig)! Jo Brand is a big Broken Family Band fan. This isn’t as much of a good taste spot but Geoff Hoon likes his music (although the last thing I saw by him was an appreciation of a Pink Floyd song). |

I always remember Richard Wilson (aka V. Meldrew) having pretty good taste whenever questioned about it... I remember him saying he listened to Pulp, Portishead and Blur back in the day! |

Cricketer, Derek Pringle selected I Wanna Destroy You by The Soft Boys for the Rough Trade 30th anniversary comp and has been seen in Intoxica buying original 45s by The Monks and The Syndicats. |
