Oh there's only one Bove....The Legendary Sir Davie Mac.... Now there's a character, is there anybody in the London gig scene who doesn't know him? |

Even I've met Dave Mac and I was never a fixture on the gig scene. Anyone know the bloke on the left - taken at the Dublin castle in '03. Looks like he's in the Soundsxp age bracket |

True. If anyone had offered as the second one, a name other than the Mac Attack I'd have been surprised. Top little fella. Always in his leather jacket and oil sodden jeans and filled to brimming with snakebite. Goes to a lot less than he used to now he's all luvved up (he denies he is and claims poverty is the reason but it's a bloody strange coincidence). Too many Dave Mac stories to relay in one sitting but one that sums up his passion is Toy Dolls* playing a low profile 'secret' gig in a village hall in a tiny village in the Swiss mountains about ten years ago. The gig was paid for by a keen local fan who was so desperate to see them he paid them handsomely to perform in this unlikely area. Dave Mac who is a massive Toy Dolls fan gets wind of it at very very short notice and somehow gets a flight out there, a taxi at the other end and tracks down the venue on the day with a lot of walking and hitching. The band know him as he's followed them around Europe many times but they certainly didn't expect him there, then. *A lot better band than the Nellie the Elephant novelty hit would suggest. |

There's a chap who looks a bit like Damon Hill who seems to be at every single gig that I attend, and some of the ones my band plays at too. He's a real photog, and I'm sure he's lovely but I tried to talk to him once and he sadly wasn't very responsive, so he remains an enigma to me. He probably posts on this forum... |
