The greatest radio station in the world,WFMU is currently running it's annual fund raising marathon.
WFMU is entirely listener supported with no commercial sponsors or any kind of subsidy. I always pledge every year, but I do listen to at least ten hours a week, so it's good value for me.
WFMU has a hugely eclectic playlist, and all it's shows are archived at
http://www.wfmu.org/ which means you can listen to what ever type of show you happen to be in the mood for. It has played records and recorded live sessions by many UK bands who never get played on UK radio, including many championed on the pages of Sounds XP.
If you want to send a donation go to
https://www.wfmu.org/marathon/pledge.php There are rewards for people who pledge.
$50 or more gets you a WFMU t-shirt. A pledge of $75 can get you a t-shirt plus a CD compiled by a DJ of your Choice, go for Terre T's selection of outtaprint vinyl punk/indie rarities and you'll also get a Terre T t-shirt!
Those of you in bands or running record labels, why not send your records to WFMU as well? Terre T played the last Manic Cough 45 several times and included it in her records of the year show. I think she'd also like The Bridge Gang. The likes of Art Brut, Holly Golightly, The Priscillas, The London Dirthole Company, The Nightingales, Country Teasers and Armitage Shanks have all recorded live sessions for the station when visiting the USA and loads more UK bands have had airplay.
