I like some of his stuff Blood On The Tracks, Highway 61 Revisited, Bringing It All Back Home and Blonde on Blonde all get played around my place..... but I have a real soft spot for 'Desire' - that's probably my most played record of his. I haven't heard any recent stuff (i.e. last 20 years or so) and haven't bothered with the basement tapes and all that archive material, maybe I should check out that series. |

i like lots of his stuff but i find a whole album a bit much. my partner is a fan and has really got into the last 2 albums. i really like modern times, as simon says its great in an old man blues sort of way i have seen dylan live in 4 different decades and the gigs have been light years different first was at blackbushe in 78 one of the best gigs i have ever seen, me and my brother got right to the front which took us several hours as there were 250,000 there (i think). when we arrived we were so far away we couldnt see the stage. dylan played for 3 hours! saw him at wembley arena in the late 80s, and honestly he couldnt be bothered singing just making grunting noises. you had to wait to the chorus to work out what song it was. people were walking out after about half an hour last time was at brixton a few years ago. i hadnt realised he couldnt play guitar any more so the band were into the 4th song before we realised the bloke playing keyboards at the back was dylan! very good though |
