I have to disagree. Ten Storey Lovesong was great! Some good tracks on the second album but let's face it they were never going to match the debut after such a long time between the releases. |

I think the Libs second album is actually more consistent than the first, whereas both of Interpol's first two albums are great for different reasons (the third's a bit patchy IMHO)... Bananas queried my dissing all but 'Pablo Honey' by Radiohead on the sister thread to this one, so would like to throw that one in here. Maybe I just came from the more simplistic school of indie at the time (no change there really), but I just got increasingly irritated with the dual attack of their pretentiousness and the sacred cow status that was bestowed upon them. They also became so, so dull... Ride had a pretty good debut (their EP's pre-debut were probably even better) before they ran out of ideas on later releases, albeit they still had their moments. |

Gene. An acquired melodramatic taste admittedly, but they more than held their own with their debut. |
