Katyn, the new Andrzej Wajda film, about the Soviet slaughter of thousands of Polish officers and citizens in the Katyn forest in 1940, is excellent. Not sure if O Horten is stil showing anywhere, but it is worth seeing if you can. Last new film I saw was Moon; Not bad, aims for the Solaris / 2001 end of the SF spectrum with some Phillip K Dick like devices on what it means to be human. Directed by Duncan Jones aka Zowie Bowie, son of David. Lots of classic gangster films showing at the NFT this month. |
