Truer than true. I’ve always had a massive affinity with the chap. Probably because it reminds me of being really young and my Mum watching him on TV and me asking questions about why he was acting silly or whatever! My first experiences of drunkenness that… Every chef on TV these days is dull in comparison. Apart from Jamie Oliver no-one else attempts to make cooking FUN… which he did with all his flamboyance, flair and sozzledness. Rather than just coldly reproducing a dish… What a man. Even his recent stuff where he’d toned down the mayhem was more interesting than any other bastard who cooks on telly. A sad loss… |
