Early bird tickets are on sale already for a few so how did the ones you attended rate? For me it was IndieTracks and End of the Road. IndieTracks - Still a great little festival - only about 1500 there I'd guess, maybe slightly less. Lovely setting of the steam railway station and nice vibe. Bands were not quite as good as previous year but still good and excellent value for money tickets. Food service had improved but is still not quite as good as others around and beer was great but ran out. EotR - Excellent. About 5000 attendees. Good vibe and some excellent bands though again the line-up not as good as previous year.. Excellent food, if pricey. Very good beer. |

The only festival I made it to was the Hop Farm in Kent. The lineup on the main stage was poor with the likes of Florence and the Machine, the Fratellis, The Pidgeon Detectives, Paul Weller and Ladyhawke though Echo & The Bunnymen and That Petrol Emotion were great. The 2nd stage was dance so we kept well clear, but the 3rd stage was superb - Danananakroyd, The Chapman Family, White Denim, Let's Wrestle, Fight Like Apes were all excellent. The general vibe was relaxed and friendly and it was really nice to see no corporate sponsorship anywhere. And it only cost me a fiver forthe entire weekend ![]() Mark |
