Featuring covers of Kings Of Leon, Dubstar and Fleetwood Mac, their stripped down drum 'n bass now comes with added keyboards. Ace. Imp/Jeremia "The Heartfelt EP" CD single Another uttery top-notch release from Philophobia! Imp play melodic indiepop - "Party" is an excellent tune, with swirly organ giving it a 60s feel. Jeremia are lovely acoustic indiepop and well worth checking out!. Withered Hand "Good News" CD Debut album from Glasgows wondrous Withered Hand. Following on from two previous EPs, the idiosyncratic themes and americana tunes of Dan Willson flow effortlessly. Excellent. The Wildebeests "The Gnus Of Gnavarone" CD 60s Garage revivalism from The Wildebeests with some excellent stomping garage, mod beats and rock n roll explosions. Overall a very good collection of tunes. On Dirty Water Records. The Parallelograms "Dream On Daisy" 7 inch Excellent indiepop from Sheffield's The Parallelograms (featuring SPC founder Markie!) on hip US label Cloudberry, in the C86 mould of bands such as The Rosehips and Fat Tulips. Highly recommended! 4 Or 5 Magicians "Empty Derivative Pop Songs" CD American slacker-rock influenced indie from 4 or 5 Magicians, so a lot like Urusei Yatsura! With some excellenly ascerbic lyrics that set it above many similar sounding outfits. Recommended. Ailsa Craig "A Silent No" CD New project of Random Number man Matt Robson. Featuring vocals from The Manhattan Love Suicide's Caroline, it's a mix of clean pop and electronics. Reminiscent of The Fieldmice. ALL AVAILABLE FROM THEE SPC |
