I'm reminded of an appearance Elton John made on Swap Shop or some such children's TV show in the mid 70s. One of the audience asked which musicians had inspired him. In reply Elton waxed lyrical about Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. I couldn't understand how listening to Tutti Frutti and Great Balls Of Fire could lead someone to write Your Song... |
