Also included is a free fanzine created by the band. Soda Fountain Rag "Reel Around Me" 10 inch Ace mini album on 10" vinyl(!) from Norwegian indiepop band Soda Fountain Rag. Scared To Dance "Summer 2010 Fanzine" fanzine 30 page fanzine, including interviews with POBPAH, Darren Hayman, Standard Fare, Allo Darlin and more. Comes with 4 track CD by The Understudies. Various artists "Under The Bust Station Clock" CD Super bargain sampler from the ace Philophobia Records of Wakefield. 20 songs by 20 different bands for let than the price of a pint?! Fantastic. The Cavalcade "Many Moons" CD Debut album from Bolton indiepopper The Cavalcade. As with their first EP last year, this release on Pebble Records is full of very assured yet melancholic pop, in the vein of The Orchids or Felt. The Smittens "Dancing Shoes: Remixed" CD 'Dancing Shoes' sees 8 of The Smittens indiepop songs lovingly remixed by the liked of Nixon (Roger Gunnarsson), Mark Robinson (Teenbeat Records) and Steve Williams (North of January Records). Proto Idiot "Is You Is You My EP" CD Nine tracks of one-man-band trash garage punk! Proto Idiot is Andrew Anderson - one third of garage trio The Hipshakes. Tender Trap "Dansette Dansette" 12 inch & CD New album from Amelia Fletcher's latest band Tender Trap on the Fortuna Pop label. It's great trademark indiepop from Amelia and co, featuring the singles "Girls With Guns" and "Do You Want A Boyfriend". Allo Darlin "If Loneliness Was Art" 7 inch Probably of more interest is the new b-side "Girlfriend", which is as good as anything on the album. Betty And the Werewolves "Paper Thin" 7 inch Spritely new single from Betty & The Werewolves. Silvery "Railway Architecture" CD Second album from London glam popsters Silvery. They continue their fantastic ear for the art-rock sound inspired by the likes of Sparks and Bowie, with the pop sensibilities of Blur or Dave Devant. Antarctica Takes It! "Constellations" CD Latest album from Antarctica Takes It! on the How Does It Feel label. Kill The Captains "Fun Anxiety" CD Debut album from Sheffield four-piece Kill The Captains. "Fun Anxiety" is a melodic blend of urgent pop and experimentalism with hints of My Bloody Valentine, Animal Collective, Syd Barrett. Very recommended. |
