It's probably just me, and perhaps I have heard ths before but have fogotten. Anyway, I've just been massively surprised to learn (or possibly be reminded) that David Byrne is Scottish.

I'm sure everyone knows Robert Wyatt and that he was the drummer in Soft Machine... well after Soft Machine he formed a band called Matching Mole (you might well know that too) who recorded 2 albums and were due to record a third when Wyatt had his accident.

I'd never thought about the name "Matching Mole" - it's odd but not unexpected from someone from that scene.

What I didn't realise is that Matching Mole is a pun on the French term "Machine Molle" - which translates into English as "Soft Machine"!
