In all seriousness though, does anyone remember this monstrosity? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj7_JKCb ... re=related September the 11th wasn't exactly an historical highpoint, sure, but few repercussions of it were as ghastly as Paul McCartney being inspired to write this shovel of absolute cack as a response... |

Zombie by The Cranberries... Another head hangs lowly, Child is slowly taken. And the violence caused such silence, Who are we mistaken? But you see, it's not me, it's not my family. In your head, in your head they are fighting, With their tanks and their bombs, And their bombs and their guns. In your head, in your head, they are crying... In your head, in your head, Zombie, zombie, zombie, Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head, In your head, Zombie, zombie, zombie? Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou... Another mother's breakin', Heart is taking over. When the vi'lence causes silence, We must be mistaken. It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen. In your head, in your head they're still fighting, With their tanks and their bombs, And their bombs and their guns. In your head, in your head, they are dying... In your head, in your head, Zombie, zombie, zombie, Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head, In your head, Zombie, zombie, zombie? Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh, Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a... Not only includes an example of the worst rhyming in a song, but also an early homage to the strangely lumpen-yet-effective Citeh midfield man... |

In terms of political message this one by Half A Shilling is fairly dubious. "Me father worked hard all his life down pits in't tannery, He laboured every hour God sent from June to January. He saved his pennies in a jar to buy his son some shoes, But when they sent him black instead of white he blew a bloody fuse. Send the buggers back, oh send the buggers back. These aren't the ones I wanted, son, I'm sending them straight back. I said I wanted white ones, they've sent us bloody black, I'm going to put the lid back on and send the buggers back." |
