Really tragic news. I was at Secret Garden Party when I found out and thought it was just one of those nasty festival rumours. I was wrong. Back to Black has a particularly emotional resonance with me 'cos it's the record my ex-girlfriend played at ludicrously loud volumes when we split up. I thought she'd pull through the addiction and leave the mass media hounding behind but it didn't happen. |

Whether it's right or wrong that we should mourn strangers who die early and ignore the thousands of others who die lonely squalid deaths is debatable but unlike some of her fellow druggy contemporaries (Moss, Doherty, etc) she was actually talented and I think that's why so many people have struggled with the news. |

Just heard one of the new tracks that will be released posthumously and it's horrible... Her voice sounds incredible and classy as always and then you've got this stupid rap tagged on. If the rest of the album's like that... no, ta. |
