Loads of stuff (mainly singles not albums though) I'd like to have, but most of it unaffordable, but the one not too expensive LP I've been meaning to buy for decades, but have never actually bought is California Licence by Jett Powers, a compilation of recordings by PJ Proby from before he adopted the name. The only tracks I've heard from it are the Go Girl Go / Teenage Quarrel 45 and his excellent version of Stranded In The Jungle, which was comped on one of those Greasy Rock & Roll LPs. I've always been undecided whether to splash out the £20 - £30 this LP goes for on the strength of those three tracks or to hold off until I find somewhere I can hear the whole LP. |
