Of course all great acts have their tenth rate dopplegangers, but I'm talking about the ones that inspire an avalanche of shit. The Stooges / MC5 Love both bands, but have seen litterally hundreds of shit bands who would cite them as their main influence Aretha Franklin One of the all time greats, but is she to blame for every Mariah & Whitney that finds it necessary to sing seven notes when two would do? The Jesus & Mary Chain / My Bloody Valentine / Spacemen 3 Three excellent bands, but between them responsible for Shoegaze, the most dismal musical movement since Jazz Funk (cue impassioned defence from Kev!) |
