Virgin Media only seemed to have the Creation Years, an hour of old BBC appearances. Some good stuff on it but without any interviews, Youtube makes this sort of thing inessential these days. |

Just watched Upside Down. It's a bit weird for me as I had a small involvement with Creation in it's first few years and was often the only person not off my face, so probably remember things better than a lot of the people interviewed! There's a quote towards the end where Bobby Gillespie says, talking about Sony, (I'm paraphrasing here, but the gist was) "They were always only going to be interested in the Primal Screams, My Bloody Valentines and Oasises; they were never gonna bother with the Felts, Nikki Suddens, Pastels, Slaughter Joes". I felt much the same about the film makers! Also, I want to know, when and where did Joe Foster pick up that ludicrous accent? He never spoke like that when I knew him. |
