Standard Fare had a great 2010 that saw the release of their critically acclaimed debut album The Noyelle Beat, festival appearances at Latitude, Indietracks, In the City and SWN and two US tours, including playing at SXSW. They are due to release their new album in December.

Arguably one of the most under sung UK acts currently doing the rounds. Nat Johnson and the Figureheads are a five-piece band based in Sheffield. Their music ranges from the sparse acoustic twinkling of Nat’s former outfit, to a full, electric sound encompassing alt-country and indie pop.

They released their debut album, "Roman Radio", in October 2009 on Damaged Goods Records and recorded live sessions for Marc Riley, Tom Robinson and John Kennedy. They've recently done the 'pledge music' thing with great applomb to help fund their forthcoming second album.

Nat Johnson is the former singer, songwriter and guitarist of acclaimed folk-pop band Monkey Swallows the Universe. When MSTU disbanded in 2008, Nat went solo for a short while before assembling her backing band, The Figureheads, comprising Kevin Gori, Chris Loftus, Neil Piper and Emily Gunn. After all, some consider it unlucky to sail a ship without a figurehead.

From Brooklyn, New York, Sport of Kings offer up succulent pop with an 80s feel. Their recent single 'Free Jazz' was described as having spoonfuls of horn-drenched pop. And Mixtape Muse said their sound is 'the carefree, surf-loving child of Yo La Tengo (circa Summer Sun) and Tahito 80 (circa Wallpaper for the Soul)'.

Rory McVicar is musician and songwriter based in Norwich, England. Rory delivers heart wrenching folky pop that comes in somewhere between Nick Drake and Tim Buckley.
