Entertaining and well written, if some of the points are merely for show. Bit disappointed to see Alex James hobnobbing with the vile Clarkson and CaMORON, if not surprised. |

I'd been thinking, given the reviews, that I ought to get the Laura Marling album. Fortunately 6music played one of the songs, so I won't bother now. I don't think the article's that bad (or good). It is mildly interesting that the current epitome of conservatism in pop is piss-weak folk rather than materialistic dance. But Marling, Mumfords and co are easy targets. It would be far more interesting to consider, given SamCam's liking for it, where the PJ Harvey album stands on the spectrum... |
