After the culling a collection thread I thought I'd throw this one in. An old question I know and it may have been covered on here before but I couldn't find a thread.

What were the first singles and albums you bought?

My first single was Got My Mind Set On You by George Harrison when I was 7. (on 7")

My first album was the Travelling Wilburys debut a year later. (on cassette)

At the time I didn't realise George Harrison was in the Travelling Wilburys. It didn't give their names on the sleeve!

First single? Either Embarrassment by Madness or something by Motorhead.

First single I bought myself was Harmony in my Head by the Buzzcocks. Not sure what my first album was because Voulez Vous by Abba, Discovery by ELO and Parallel Lines by Blondie within a few weeks of each other.
