I saw Howe Gelb and Dan Michaelson there the other week. The venue is ok for a gig, it's about the size of Cargo if you know that. There are different sized rooms depending on who's playing I think. The bar is rubbish though. Apart from Addlestones cider everything is in small bottles so I'd do your drinking elsewhere. Can't go wrong with the barley mow too |

Don't know if this is always the case, but when Throbbing Gristle played there (their last ever gig), there was no support act and the band went on early. Might be worth checking stage times before going to the pub. |

Well... the venue is great. Best sound I've experienced for a long time but the bar is shocking. Worse than Cargo. Only one beer on offer and that's stunted cans of Becks Vier at 4 quid a pop. Luckily I'd been in the Brickies beforehand. And they did come on early - we arrived at 9.25 and the headliners (the Walkmen) had come on at 9. Luckily they played till 10 to 11 anyway. |
