Ooof. Bit harsh on Joanna Newsom there Bov. She's a beautiful singer now (so was it genuinely naive or a schtick she dropped?). I actually miss the early Lisa Simpson vocals sometimes. I absolutely adored Ys as well. Amazing record. As was the Ys Street band EP. There is some loveliness on the third triple album too, but I must admit, the triple album thing defeated even this one time obsessive fan-boy. To this day I don't think I've made it to the end of disk three. Does that count as taking the piss?

Good points all. I wouldn't be surprised if Joanna Newsom's mum hasn't sat all the way though it to be honest.

Are there any decent triple albums?

To return to the theme, I always thought the Pipettes were taking the pee by gradually replacing the entire group but still selling themselves with the original polka-dot 60s pop image. Come back Julia, Becky and Rose!
