On an achievements basis I’d probably give it to Murray. Started the year with that incredible semi final against Novak at the Australian Open, and then came through one of the toughest draws you’re ever likely to see to make the final at Wimbledon. Bounced back from that huge disappointment to beat the world number one and two at the Olympics, then rounds it off with last night’s performance. Sadly though he’s not great at getting his true personality across to the public is he, so ,on the basis that his acceptance speech will be a car crash, he’s out.
Wiggins has had an incredible season from start to (almost) finish. To see a Brit win the TdF is something a decade ago you would never have thought possible. However, it was a Tour with a profile that was tailor made for Brad; he was surrounded by the strongest team; four of the very best riders in the world were absent and a fifth, Froome, looked potentially stronger but was prepared to put the team first. Putting all that to one side however, ultimately I don’t like his sideburns, so no trophy for you Bradders!
McIllroy supports United so he can piss right off.
Farrah, top man, great achievement ...but I’m well and truly sick of the MoBot! You can’t collect an award if your hands are glued to your head so strike him off the list.
So all things considered, my vote goes to the dancing horse. Clip clop.
