Many too many mediocre films this year, but all of my top twenty were well worth seeing. The top eleven are particularly fine! My top twenty: The Turin Horse Berberian Sound Studio Keyhole Coriolanus Beasts Of The Southern Wilds Amour Argo Holy Motors London - The Modern Babylon Shadow Dancer Avengers Assemble Sightseers In Darkness The Imposter The Master Martha Marcy Mary Marlene Cinema Komuniste Ted Himzu Free Men Dark Horse That's actually 21, but all seem worthy of inclusion. Still to see The Hunt, McCullin and Chasing Ice; all of which could displace other films from this list. Two films that came out in December last year, that I didn't see until January 2012, The Artist and Margaret fell between being on either this years or last years list, but were both very good. Seven recommendations from this years film festivals that hopefully will get a general release next year.
