Hehe. Well he certainly looks like Frank and the film's called Frank.. I just guess he has a normal (albeit American) voice. Whole host of possible explanations as to why he might have a papier mache head I guess. Interesting. |

Jon Ronson would be on my fantasy dinner party guest list. Just thought I'd share that with the group. |

Just the (milch)man. I've heard Ronson interrupting at least three interviewers with his emphatic reminder that it's a fictionalised version, hence the minor modifications to the mask etc.. "Fictionalised" account versus biopic. It's a thin line. I'm trying to think of other films that tread it, but now you've showed up you can save me the bother. Take it away there, like a good man... |

Like I say, it's a thin line. I'm going to put all that with my other information, milchman; and try to relieve this newly hatched hankering for Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Movie. |

Saw Frank on Saturday. Head aside, character has next to nothing to do with Mr Sidebottom, more in common with the fragile persona of a Daniel Johnson type, with Captain Beefheart's obsessional attitude to music. Good film though, well worth seeing. Only real reservation was the frequent use of the Jon character's voice-over and having his tweets come up on screen; this seemed like lazy writing and was heavy handed and tended to break the mood, in what is otherwise quite a subtle and thoughtful film. |
