Really like that picture, Milchy and good thread. I'm a big fan of Pete McKee, a contemporary artist from Sheffield who does a lot of popular culture stuff but especially music and its related fashion cults. Here's a couple of faves: |

I got a couple of Pete McKees for Xmas a few years back. a different record shop one and the Hawley/Cocker/Turner/Christie in Fagan's one. They'l be back on the walls for the first time in a year once we've decorated. Have you been to his gallery/shop on one of your Sheffield jaunts? It's abit out of the city centre. |

Obey Giant has done a load of mock album covers that are great. I have a couple - one's based on Surf's Up and another on The Clash, both signed but he's done loads. This is an idea of style: He also did a genuine Led Zep one recently. |

I don't know how much music related art he does but I bought this of John Suchy last year while I was in New York - he was selling some of his work on Upper East Side and he gave it to me for 25 dollars I think. It's my favourite bit of art on the subject of music. http://www.gallerydirectart.com/bej-3556.html Agggh, I wish you hadn't mentioned Pete Mckee, Bovey. I've gone to buy that Girl with wind in her hair on canvas about thirty times and have had to stop myself. http://www.petemckee.com/shop/iconic/th ... -hair-2011 |

A few artworks, not necessarily music themed, but created by people better known as musicians: Mickey Hampshire (Masonics, Milkshakes etc) Klaudia Schifferle (Kleenex, Liliput) Jowe Head (Swell Maps) Mark Mothersbaugh (Devo) Ben Edge (Thee Spivs) Billy Childish (Milkshakes, Spartan Dregs etc) Ella Guru (Deptford Beach Babes etc) |

Went to the show curated by Gaye Advert last year and Ben Edge's paintings were the most impressive as works of art. That's one talented punk! But I love this guy's work: |
