Has there ever been a better intro to a song than this? John's Children ... Remember Thomas A Beckett http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6e0EOhmtmM ...or a worse one than this? The Beatles ... All You Need Is Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMbIjsUMFrY |

Good thread! These stand the test of time: Four Brothers (79): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwPrQOZlbak Smiths (83): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGnjrTkv1gs But I couldn't find a decent version of "Some people think little girls should be seen and not heard...but I think: OH BONDAGE UP YOURS! 1,2,3,4..." I'll have to give the worst intros some thought, but anything by Blur would probably fit... |

Funny how nobody has come up with one for the worst. Guess I must have set the bar too high with my choice! Still think Remember Thomas A Beckett has the best intro of all, although Kev picked a cracker with The Ronettes and Ballroom Blitz was certainly worth a mention. |

I think basically the intro to any fucking awful song would count. And there are a lot of those to pick from. |

I was contemplating this the other month, actually. This was my answer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb-SVPJM4L4 It's that key change, when the second wave of strings comes in... nothing beats that. Nothing. |
