The new Vampire Weekend LP could be 3 songs shorter & all the better for it. Revolver is 35 minutes, It's A Shame About Ray is 29 minutes (not counting Mrs Robinson) & even White Light/White Heat is only 40 minutes*. I know in the past it was all to do with sound quality per side of vinyl but I think it focused the performers mind into what was essential. I bamlem Compact Discs & rap music. * Timings approximate. |

Trev will disagree that this song is even any good - but can you imagine I Am The Resurrection being cut down to 3 minutes? Oh yeah, the record company did it without the band's permission and it paled in comparison. |
