I've been watching the women's footie for a while now. It's getting better all the time. Shame England have been dreadful so far. My personal fave is Swedish striker Kosovare Asllani |

Have watched a bit. England were indeed rubbish. I've always been in favour of televising more women's sport, but never realised quite how much it matters. SInce the Olympics though I've realised it makes a massive difference to my girls to see women's sport on the TV. When the game was on at the weekend they took so much notice that women could play, and my youngest has had a football out in the garden every day since. |

That's great, and it is really important. Can you imagine if you only saw male actors on TV, male musicians in bands - mental, horrible thought. I haven't watched it cuz I don't have a tv or the Internet at home (other than an old iPhone) but Ive always thought women's PL footy should have a show after Motd. And women's tennis is way better to watch than men's. |

I'd like to see more women's cycling on the TV. They show the track events as they're raced as part of the same event as the male racers, but the likes of Emma Pooley, Nicole Cooke & Lizzie Armistead, who have all done great things on the road, are overlooked unless it's the Olympics. I'd hoped that the newly formed Wiggle team with Joanna Rowsell, Dani King & the mighty Laura Trott would prompt some interest from the TV companies, but it seems not. As for women's football, I remember back in the 70s seeing some games on TV with professional male players making condescending comments about not being able to believe just how good they were. At that time women's football was really shit. It's evolved massively since then, mainly due, I guess, to girls starting to play at an early age. Haven't watched the current tournament, but have watched a bit over the last few years. As much as I recognise the importance of showing women's sport, I've yet to see a game of women's football that has really demanded my attention and a few top players aside, the England team have always looked pretty poor when I've seen them. |

Posted this in the Tour de France section as well, so apologies to anyone following both threads. Petition for a women's Tour De France: https://www.change.org/petitions/aso-am ... xWoWxEUvti |

I never watched women's championships, but sometimes we organized parties and invited beauties and had mini-footballs, they masterfully coped, and after that we certainly relaxed and rested until morning. I enjoy such a high. |
