Had one of those nights where I just couldn't sleep. So I got up at 2 and did some reviews and for some reason started thinking about the best comeback single ever. Rules: The band have to have either broken up (for longer than five minutes like some bands) and reformed, or have publicly gone on "hiatus" for a long time. So some like, for example, Love Spreads by The Stone Roses doesn't count. It was 5 years or whatever, but during that time the band didn't split, so it doesn't qualify. Any suggestions? Starting getting back on terms in 1997, release in 99 - so 17 year gap really. |

Clarification on solo artists: Reasonable amount of time out with illness, prison, national service etc. all accepted. |

Arguably Girl Like You by Edwyn was something of a comeback to form. Huge worldwide hit after most people had written him off post Orange Juice and 9 years after Rip it up |
